HEMI Jensen Interceptor Restomod Metalwork Progressing!
Question for Cal. Off the back of the Allegros and the imminent Saab , can you dip a little more into the background of legalities and pitfalls of floorpan swaps on monocoque shells please?
On your newest project, Please call it the Saaudi.
The integro’s are gonna look amazing.
All of that great work and all I can say is.............love that yellow plaid/tartan fabric. Lol
Would be grateful for a Tig “autofocus”. Tips on mild & stainless sheet fab welding, stainless tube & aluminium fab welding. Covering tungsten tip alloy selection, welding rod selection, gas flow & cup choice. Material prep, and any other tips. Cheers 😊
At 0:15 a politician level porky, they are all in the half crown.
Big fan of your excellent work and informative an entertaning videos! Could you please also learn us how to make the drive-by-wire throttle mechanism both at the TBs (with the Jenvey actuatlr) and at the gas pedal with its potentiometer at the Escorts, please? A couple of Nice video sequences woumd be much appriciated. Thanks again of your excellent, high class and entertaning work - and all the best from DK!
"Polished car video's" Ooo please let it be Henry Catchpole. 😁 Another really good video guy's keep up the great work!
New Subscriber could watch you allday lol
KILLER interior.
I have another question, when is a shell too far gone to be used, or is it just a matter of money v availability of better shells/panels? PS. God that Jensen looks great! ❤
Back in time with the Allegro chairs, if only they were so luxurious back then.
i whould love an outofocus on the heat-shrinking process, i love the tangent parts of the videos ! my favorite
Upholstery is BEAUTIFUL! The Escort's exhaust looks rather small, for such a potent car... looks like a peashooter...ouch. I realize it's not a Mazda, or Subaru, but still.
Those seats are just fabulous. Poo brown actually looks chic 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Richard's upholstery section - Video B+ Music choice F
The rear wheels are flexing under load, dont know what bushing your using
You're bloke's skills are very impressive !
How will you register the Saab/Audi and what will you register it as? Same question for the Allegros too.
This week I'm mostly being so impressed by seat refurbishment. Fantastic stuff.
38 mins of Nat... 11 mins of Cal? C'mon guys, the skip button is nearly worn out 😳
That Camaro is stunning! What colour is it?
the seats are absolutely GORGEOUS !!
Richard’s seat upholstering work is utterly beautiful to watch! I honestly believe that investing in people is the very best of all ways to grow for any good specialist company, and that “Quality & Integrity equals longevity” Also, In the longer term, I hope to see some female apprentices as well.

Nat can you just go over that metalwork process again, clever stuff.
In the fab shop on cars like the jag, when you’ve replaced the sills, what do you spray on the inside of the sill, if anything, to stop the metal corroding from the inside out?? I know you can waxoyl after painting but before sealing it in, do you spray a zinc rich paint in there??
So no progress on the Jag as per your headline?
I love Nats tangents 👌🏽
Never miss an episode, never fully understand what your talking about, always find it fascinating. Thank you.
What happened to Jensen CV8?
You did so well this week, took almost 15 minutes until you started both waffling on and repeating yourself over and over again.
That Allegro seat, as in colours and materials and use of existing structure, really shows so much of what Retropower is about. You very rarely disappoint.
Just superb! 👍
I had a jacket like that in 1975 - there was enough material in just one of the lapels to reupholster both Allegros!
You can't really weld larger structures without a little hot shrinking here and there. Once the welds start pulling and everything goes out of shape, the torch becomes the magic wand that makes it all nice and straight and perpendicular again. And no matter how often I do it, for some reason I always think it didn't work and then a minute later, when I'm already stressing, the metal starts moving ... ^^.
Hi team. Dynamat. You said sound damping and insulation. Do you use different products for each, and if so what do you use? Thanks. Dean New Zealand.
Trying to sound technical today , aka nerdy speak 😂 Let’s go Marc
Blablablablabla
Contra heating
I learn SO MUCH from this weekly series. Keep up good work, Nat. I get the sense you second guess yourself at times on these technical tangents. Well, keep at it. Unbelievably informative 👏
Oh goody you painted the all aggro in the original POO POO KAK KAK nappy deposit colour, what a great idea, I'm sorry some people have more money than sense, yes Rerto I know it wasn't your choice.
just make everthing adjustable RE: driving positions
Mat. Far too much detail on how to in the metal shop!
Every day is a learning day even if I will never attempt this sort of work again.
Surly this is proof there is nothing that cannot be Retro`d!
didnt get one bit off this Austin allegro ,none
Allegro seat looks ace. Honda's do wear the bores and exhaust guides out, its just that they make a 8000+rpm engine that'll do 150,000 miles and still be going, which is bloody hard work to achieve on anything else. If it needs a rebore there are/were some oversize OEM style cast pistons available on ebay US for joke money (120 quid a set or something ridiculous iirc) that ive used a few times. They need the crowns machining down on a lathe to get the compression ratio right but they were suprisingly good quality.
Those Allegro builds are probably high five figures cost. If it needs pistons, they’ll probably get some pretty high spec ones in.
@@Jonathan_Doe_ depends what spec the rest of it is. On a standard-ish tune road engine where you don't need the benefits of forged pistons i'd go cast pistons every time.
Great - until the HORRIBLE music for the seat video!
Think this video needed a different title
Saab being weak in the front is what made them safe for the occupants. Crumple zones absorb energy, not your noggin.
Well done Richard!
